Why the Empty-House Window Matters

Painting an empty new build is a completely different job from painting a lived-in home — and every difference favors you:

  • Nothing to move or mask. No furniture shuffling, no draping your belongings, no working around beds and bookshelves. Just floors to protect and walls to paint.
  • Faster and cleaner. Crews roll room to room without obstacles, so a whole home takes days instead of the week-plus a furnished repaint can run.
  • No living in it. You never sleep in a house that smells like fresh paint or eat dinner around drop cloths. The paint cures while you're still packing.
  • Move-in scuffs land on tough paint. Washable finishes go up before the hand trucks and couch corners arrive — the single highest-scuff day in a home's life.

New-Construction-Friendly Scheduling

We work Henderson's new-build communities constantly, so our scheduling is built around how new-construction closings actually behave:

  1. Book against your closing date

Tell us your estimated close as soon as you have it — even months out. We pencil the job and confirm as the date firms up.

  2. We flex when the builder slips

New-construction closings move. When your builder pushes a week, your paint dates move with it — no penalty, no starting over in the queue.

  3. Color consult in the real house

Right after your walkthrough or closing, we meet you in the empty house to finalize colors in the home's actual light, against the actual flooring and cabinets.

  4. Painted before the truck arrives

Two coats, washable finishes, clean lines against the builder's fresh trim — with a final walkthrough before your movers ever pull up.

What About the Builder Warranty?

Interior paint doesn't touch anything structural, and repainting your walls is a normal owner improvement. Two practical notes we handle for you: we document wall condition when we start (so any drywall settlement cracks that appear later are clearly the normal new-home settling your builder's warranty covers), and if your builder has a scheduled warranty walk coming up, we can sequence around it. Many of our clients have us back after the 11-month drywall-settlement repairs to blend those patches into the new color.

Already Moved In? Still Doable.

If you've been in the house a few months and the builder white is already showing every scuff, we paint furnished new builds too — we just bring the masking and floor protection an occupied home needs. The empty window is ideal, not mandatory.
